Welcome to our Kids Kingdom
LUKE 18:16 But Jesus called the children to them and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of god belongs to such as these.
Our Kids Kingdom ministry is full of God’s children…… we must do our best to love, teach, care for and nurture our children in a manor that God might look down on us and smile. There is nothing more precious on this earth than a child that feels loved. The Kids Kingdom ministry is in place to help build friendships and a better foundation for our children so that as they grow up, they might have a closer walk with God. After all, prayerfully these children are God’s future Christians and we need to take care of them as such!
THE CLASSES:
At the beginning of the service, the kids stay out with all the family members to let us all spend a little “family time” together during our worship service. Kids Kingdom then begins at the second half of the service (typically right at the beginning of the fellowship break) and continues through the end of the service. We currently have five classrooms that are divided into age groups including Infants, Toddlers (2-4yrs.), pre-kinder / kindergarten, 1st-2nd Graders, and 3rd-4th Graders. These classrooms are monitored and taught by our very own volunteer Christian parents with love and values.
THE CURRICULUMS:
The curriculums for the children’s classes were created in the 1990’s by Christian parents in the church. The goal was to have fun in the classes while instilling Biblical values in our children using God’s word as the standard. The classrooms are fun, enthusiastic and really a great time for the kids, as well as the parents, to spend time together developing long lasting friendships.
THE TEACHERS:
The classrooms have either two or three teachers, depending on the number of kids, with one of the teachers being the lead teacher and the other teachers as helpers. This keeps the child-to-adult ratio at 4-to-1 in the three younger classes and about 7-to-1 in the older classrooms. The children love the one-on-one time that they can have with the teachers, as well as the teachers are able to spend more time participating with each child during classroom activities. We rotate our volunteer teachers every 4 months, which allows some consistency in teaching for our kids throughout the year, yet not too long of teaching span for the volunteer parents.
